London Access & Alpha Event 

  • We have opened our registration of interest for London in October 2019. Our last NYC event witnessed 500 buy-side firms and 100 data vendors attending the event. 2000 one on one meetings were arranged with the buy-side firms. Not to be missed!

      •  A dataset profile that includes sample data and a data dictionary will enable the buyer to understand the deliverable and decide if they want to contact the vendor. Historically, dataset profiles that attach sample data and a data dictionary receive more leads than datasets that do not!

      • To increase accuracy on bets, hedge funds are rapidly adopting alternative data routes. One of the recent incidents where hedge fund hired drones to ascertain the predictions of the crash of share prices of a lumber company. The inventories were stacked due to strike by railway, the drones flew over lumberyards to confirm the theory. Click here to read the article. 
      • Thinknum tracked Pepsi’s growth post leadership transition. Tracking reflects the increase in a job globally, hiring in engineering, manufacturing, utilities, and e-commerce have has risen substantially.  Comparing Pepsi from its competitor ‘Coca-Cola’, Thinknum reflects that Pepsi’s alternative showed stronger signals of growth. ‘Pepsi’s data pre-earnings, we have to take into account its largest global competitor, Coca Cola’. Click here to read the article. 
      • The endless alternative dataset offerings in markets have opened more doors for investment funds. The availability of a wide variety of datasets has given funds to try, test and fail fast.  This leaves the traditional data providers to revisit their business model and collaborate more with alternate data providers.
